New head coach of Pakhtakor Pieter Huistra spoke about his appointment, composition, training camp and fans.

I am glad that I became the head coach of Pakhtakor and am proud that the club management invited me to accept the team after Shota Arveladze. Management knows that with me Pakhtakor will continue the development path achieved over the past three and a half years. I will continue to work, our style of play will remain, or maybe it will be even better. For players too are good, with them we will continue the path that you chose at the very beginning.

January is the period when players change teams. In Pakhtakor every year someone leaves, and someone comes. Only outgoing players need to be replaced with players of a good level. This is a kind of challange, and this year was no exception.

The players deserved to rest and returned from holiday. During the rest period, they also performed a certain amount of work. And now we will prepare together for the start of the championship. We will also strive to be in good shape for the AFC Champions League.

During my stay here, I met many fans, and I have a good relationship with them. I hope that in the new season we will have a warm relationship with them. We get support from them and this is very important. Football club implies fans. I hope that together we will have a great season.
