Shota Arveladze turns to 45!

The head coach of Pakhtakor, Shota Arveladze, turns 45 today.

Arveladze is very famous as a football player. He played for the teams of Martve (Georgia), Dinamo (Tbilisi, Georgia), Trabzonspor (Turkey), Ajax (Netherlands), Rangers (Scotland), AZ (Netherlands), Levante (Spain).

Shota is the best scorer in the history of the Georgian national team - he scored 26 goals. According to the decision of the Georgian Football Federation, the 11th number is permanently assigned to him in the national team of the country.
During his career, Shota Arveladze played 610 matches and scored 383 goals.

Shota Arveladze became the head coach of our team in June last year. He started his coaching career in 2008 in the Netherlands at the AZ football club as assistant coach to Louis van Gaal. He headed such Turkish clubs as Kayserispor in 2010-2012, Kasympasa in 2012-2015. In 2016 he became the head coach of Maccabi Tel Aviv (Israel).

Shota Arveladze is:

- in Ajax: the champion (1997/98) and the winner of the Dutch Cup (1997/98 and 1998/99)
- in Rangers: champion (2002/03 and 2004/05) and winner of the Scottish Cup (2001/02 and 2002/03).
In the list of his personal achievements there are titles:
- the best football player of Georgia (1994, 1998 and 2007)
- the best scorer of the championship of Turkey (1995/96).

Today‘s also the birthday his twin brother Archil Arveladze, who was also a football player, played in such clubs as Dinamo (Tbilisi, Georgia), Trabzonspor (Turkey), NAK Breda (Netherlands), Köln ( Germany), Lokomotiv (Tbilisi), and also played for the national team of Georgia for 8 years.
