Vladimir Valievich would have turned 60 today.
Forward Sabirov came to the club after the graduate from the Republican sports school of G.Titov in 1975. He played in a youth team of Pakhtakor for two years, after which he moved to the club Khanka (Yangiarik, Khorezm). His new coach was the former player of Pakhtakor and Dynamo Kyiv Sergey Dotsenko, who spoke of Sabirov as a capable, technical and thinking football player.
In 1979, at the initiative of the then trainer-selectioner Idgay Tazetdinov, Vladimir Sabirov was transferred to Pakhtakor and began to play for the first team.
He was the third youngest player after Sirojiddin Bazarov and Ravil Agishev to fly on August 11, 1979 in that mournful memory of an airplane. The plane crash ended the life of Vladimir Sabirov at the very rise of his career, left his son Oleg a year-old without father. Years later Oleg will became a football player and although he did not play for Pakhtakor, he held several matches for the national and Olympic teams of Uzbekistan.
The Pakhtakor football club honors the memory of the tragically dead Vladimir Sabirov and is always proud of his short but bright career in our club.
